World Wi-Fi number for FREE from Republic Wireless

It is amazing how new concepts are shaping the today and future of the fast progressing world we are living in. After bringing a revolutionary idea of bringing VoIP to cellphones today I received an email from Republic Wireless to get hold of a free international number.

Republic Wireless call this a world Wi-Fi number. World Wi-Fi number is a secondary number that will be assigned to your primary domestic number and the republic wireless number. Anyone would be able to call you from any country for very cheap prices (sometime in future)

As soon as I got this, I had a question for myself. Why do I need it? Here is whatI found:

I am from India and most of my family and friends are in India. This will help me in 2 ways:
1) All my friends and family can call me for a very cheap price as Republic Wireless has offered all carriers in the world a very cheap way to pass their traffic directly to them instead of paying heavy fees to other carriers to route the call internationally.
2) I frequently go back to India to meet family and for business. While I am there the same Republic Wireless phone with the world Wi-Fi number will work anywhere where there is a wifi. India is very advanced now, even in my village (Mohtli) there are many wifi networks available. This empowers all my clients, office, friends in USA reach me directly without a need of international calling enabled on their phone.

I went ahead and booked the number of my choice for free. I even went ahead and reserved a number for my wife ( even when she is not registered with them, I think they are very generous to allow anyone). Here is the link http://worldwifi.republicwireless.com

Now I am waiting for 2012 when they will make this number available and functional. Once the feature is ready Republic Wireless will be back in touch and will let me know how to link the World Wi-Fi number with the Republic phone and my primary domestic number.

I am excited to use this new feature and technology and wish the very best to Republic Wireless.

Change is a Process, not a Project

“Change is a process, not a project”.

If you are going through a change or helping someone/organization/group go through a change, please always remember that change is progressive process and it should be done in phases, over a period of time. Change is not like a project that you can have a start and end date but it is continuous. You may be able to do a subset of a change as a project but overall it is a process.

If we choose to implement the change as process we may benefit with more acceptance and implementation by the stakeholders.

Guard your brand from Porn, reserve the .xxx domain

If you are a brand, I would encourage you to take a preemptive action and reserve your brand in .XXX registry ASAP before October 28, 2011. There is nothing worse than losing the brand reputation by letting some porn operator use your name.

Since last week the .XXX domains are available for the adult entertainment companies. So now any porn company can have yourcompanyname.XXX registered and use your name and loyal customers to increase their porn business and tarnish yourcompany image. But the good news is that there is a cooling-off period till Oct 28. All the companies outside of the porn space have enough time to protect their brands by taking a preventive measure of registering their trademark with .XXX before Oct 28.

In a worst case scenario if you choose not to reserve your domain, be ready to spend few thousand dollars in litigation cost or spend up to few millions if you choose to buy your domain back from a reseller.

The .XXX registry is operated by ICM Registry LLC. In order to reserve your brand with .XXX domain please go to a domain name registrar like networksolutions, godaddy.com. Please find the region specific list below with the links to the respective domain registration company.

Lessons from a CEO, Multi Millionaire and a Visionary

Weekly Self Assessment of things well done!
Change as soon as you find things are not working.

The following is how I understood these 2 lessons:

Sometime every week we should regularly asses our self for not only what we did wrong but especially what did we did right. Once we get into a habit of this we can know what we can continue doing for better and better results. As with time with things working well we forget the basics. This is all about keeping the basics that made the things go North. It is all about persistence and the power of compounding.
As soon as you find things are not working as expected, change the factors in the equation. It is all about facing the challenge face-on and not delaying it to further time in a hope that it may get resolved on its own.
